Official Rules of Play

League Play Rules:
1. Each team plays 3 x Official 18 minute games a week.
If there are 5 or more teams, teams may rotate playing a fourth game each week.
Each team will be scheduled for the same number of games throughout the season.

2. Final 2 weeks will be a playoff.

3. Games will commence promptly at game time - with no grace period.
- If you do not have the minimum amount of players to field a team, you will forfeit the game and the game will be recorded as an automatic loss. Forfeit losses will be recorded as a *5-0 Loss w/ stats recorded.
Prior to Season 7, forfeit losses counted as a 1-0 Loss.

4. Tie Policy - As of S7, if a regular season game is tied after 18 minutes, there will be a 3 minute, 3-on-3 Overtime, with a minimum of 1 woman on the floor. "Next goal wins". If nobody scores after 3 minutes, the game is recorded as a Tie.

Overtime Playoff games will be played 4 on 4 until next goal is scored.

5. Goal Restart Rule - After each goal, all team members must return to their side of center before progressing with the play. The team that was scored on will start with the ball behind their goal line. First pass past half must be complete prior to next goal. (A team must initiate or receive a pass from the opponent's zone before scoring)

As of S20, the team must wait until all players from the scoring team have returned to their side before initiating play.

6. Game Restart - If a team clears the ball out of bounds, the opposing team will receive ball in hand. Opposing team must give 1 stick lengths space, and "3 Mississippi" before pursuing possession.

7. Goalie Rules - Once goalie has possession of ball, the play is blown dead. Goalie must make play within 3 seconds. If played to player behind the line, the player has 3 additional seconds. If the play is played forward, there is no 3 second rule. Goalie cannot throw the ball.

8. STOPPAGE RULE - As of S14, we can no longer score off a stoppage. Must be first pass or change of possession (just like after a goal score). This means when Goalie stops ball or ball is frozen for any reason, we cannot score directly from stoppage.

9. Mandatory Team Colours - Every team has a team colour. Don't show up in another teams colour!

10. Other team refereeing / Goal Line judge - During the season, all players on the "off" team will situate at each goal line to ref the game.

11. Every team will be responsible for purchasing their own sticks.
