1. If playing straight time, penalized teams can only change players while play is in progress. Failure to do so will result in a 2 minute bench minor.

2. Deliberate body contact - 2 minute penalty

3. Checking from behind (in open ice)- will be charged as a major penalty (5 minutes) or as a match penalty (5 minutes and a game misconduct), at the discretion of the official.

4. Checking from behind (within close proximity of the boards or goal posts), will result in an automatic match penalty(5 minutes and a game misconduct). A gross misconduct may be added at the discretion of the official

5. High sticks making contact with a player above the normal height of the shoulder will result in a major penalty (5 minutes) and a game misconduct, regardless if an injury occurs or not. All other high sticks will result in a 4 minute penalty.

6. Goaltenders freezing the puck anywhere outside the crease area (in front or behind the goal line) will result in a 2 minute delay of game penalty.

7. Six (6) minutes or more in penalties in the same game for the same player will result in ejection from that game. If the ejected player refuses to leave the ice immediately or gets involved in another incident before leaving the ice, a gross misconduct will be assessed.

8. Any gross misconduct penalty assessed will result in an automatic ejection from that game, and a further minimum one game suspension. The discipline committee will determine if further suspension is warranted. This will include swearing.

9. Gross Misconduct (GM21) "Verbal Abuse of an Official or Other Player" - any player assessed a GM21 penalty will result in an automatic ejection from the game and an additional automatic 5 game suspension on the first offence, and suspension for the remainder of the season for the second offence.

10. If a game misconduct is assessed in the third period, it will carry over to include the next game as well. (Note: the exception is rule #7)

11. Fighting - first offence = game misconduct plus 3 game suspension

12. Fighting second offence or player fights twice in one game = 5 game suspension

13. Fighting third offence= full season (26 games) which carry over to the next season

14. Fighting from the penalty box=10 game suspension

15. Fighting or any altercation any player or players participate in off the ice including stands, hallway's, dressing rooms, arena lobby, or any other areas inside the Mold-Masters Sportsplex, will result in an automatic expulsion from the league.

16. Any player or team officialstriking a referee = minimum one year suspension. (For a calendar year from the date of the game)

17. Third man in a fight = imposed penalties, game misconduct and a 2 game suspension.

18. Three game misconducts accumulated in the same season = a further 5 game suspension (Note: the exception is rule #7)

19. Match Penalties include the following: stick swinging, kneeing, butt ending, spearing, kicking, deliberate intent to injure. All match penalties assessed result in a game misconduct and a minimum 10 game suspension. The league executive will determine if further action is required, and notify the player, his team rep, and head referee.

20. A second match penalty assessed in the same season will result in a one calendar year suspension, from the date of the game.

21. Any player playing in a game while still under suspension will result in an additional 5 game suspension. (See note A below)

22. All 2 minute penalties will automatically be increased to 3 minutes if playing straight time.

23. Accumulative Penalty Minute Suspensions The following suspensions will be issued to any player who acumulates the following number of penalty minutes in the same season. The suspension will be as follows:

30 minutes in penalties accumulated= 1 game suspension

40 minutes in penalties accumulated= 3 game suspension

50 minutes in penalties accumulated= season suspension

As each penalty minute limit is reached, the suspension for that limit must be served. For example, if a player accumulates 40 minutes in penalties, that player would have served a 1 game suspension after accumulating 30 minutes in penalties, and then would have to serve an additional 3 game suspension once they accumulate 40 minutes in penalties.

Note A

If a player is assessed either a game misconduct, match penalty, or suspension which results in him missing at least the next game, as stated in the rules above, and it is clearly marked on the game sheet by the official, it will be that players and his team reps responsibility to ensure he DOES NOT dress for his teams next game. There will be no reminder calls from the executive. The executive will only contact the player if an additional suspension or action is required.

PLEASE REMEMBER!!

All the CHA rules plus our own additional league rules are in place to ensure each individual hockey player can enjoy each game, while not having to worry if he will be able to make it to work the next day.
